Avg. session time

Before

A flat one-page site that didn't show the food, the room, or why people drive in for it.

After

Bookings up, dwell time up, and weekends queueing out the door.

The problem

A loved Melbourne cafe with a cult following on weekends and a website that read like a placeholder. No real food photography, no room shots, no reason for someone scrolling on a Friday night to add it to the morning plan.

The approach

Built the site around the actual room and the actual plates. Editorial menu, warm photo-led layouts, clear booking flow, a Melbourne moments gallery, and copy that sounds like the staff instead of stock cafe lines.

The outcome

Online bookings up 62% in the first 8 weeks. Average session time doubled. Weekends now queue out the door before open with a list of names already on the system.

My role

Design, build, copy

Melbourne neighbourhood cafe pulling regulars from across the city for the food and the room.
